There she is - full drive side view of my repainted 1986 (1985?) Specialized Sequoia. Originally purchased on eBAY about 4 years ago. When it arrived it was in sad shape. The wheels were rusted and non-usable - had to throw them away.
The frame paint was scared, scratched with surface rust everywhere.
Stripped it down to bare frame to check integrity - especially inside the frame - and sent the frame/fork to the Color Factory in NJ for a repaint to cool Burnt Persimmon Imron you see now.
Crank arms were very scratched and anodization was worn thru in many areas - so I stripped ano away, sanded down the scratched and polished the cranks are to bright silver (note - did the same for the seat post).
Original Brakes, rear derailleur, crank arms, frame and fork.
Added Suntour Sprint hubs with NOS MA2 Rims, new Nitto Technomic Stem and Nitto B115 bars, new Pasela 700c x 35mm tires, New MKS touring platform pedals, NOS Shimano 600 Levers, well-used Suntour Barcons, new Brooks B-17 ….
The resultant bike before you is my beautiful riding and beautiful to look at mid 80’s Specialized Sequoia.
I actually like the ride of this bike better than my Rivendell Romulus (but I still LOVE my Romulus too).
